6 Month Checkup

We had our 6 month checkup on Monday.

Weight: 14.62 lbs (25th percentile)

Height: 26.25 inches (75th percentile)

Head Circumference: 42.5 cm (75th percentile)

Vaccinations and flu shot were not the highlight. I cried...again...

Please help me with percentiles, I do NOT understand them.

Does it mean she is bigger than 25% of babies, or smaller? Taller or shorter than 75%? Does she have a big head, or a little one? I just seriously don't get it.

He-He! That's cute. I understand. I didn't care much, till now. It means that she is tall (taller than 75% of babies her age) and skinny (only heavier than 25% of babies her age). Her head matches her height, so I think it is not one way or the other.

So she's tall and skinny, she is definitely cute! And I loved her halloween costume, little red riding hood...how cute is that! :)

So . . . percentile is about largeness, not smallness. Her head is larger than 75% of babies, which matches her being taller than 75% of babies. I can maybe keep that straight. Thanks!

I cry too. Another thing you might like to know is that there are some of those drops we talked about to help babies sluff off the excess of the immunization drops since they don't measure them according to the size of the baby. And with your tall, skinny cutie, her body might get overwhelmed a bit with all of that immunization stuff. :) We do that with Joshypoo, not that he needs it...he's such a chunk! :)
